Subtitles
The text of what is said, shown on screen at the same time as the voice, so the video can be followed with the sound off.
On social media, lots of videos are watched without sound: on the train, at the office, in the evening next to someone asleep. Without subtitles, a talking video goes silent.
In short videos they read best in small groups of words, large, with strong contrast and the spoken word highlighted. Burned-in subtitles (often called open captions) are part of the picture; closed captions can be switched on or off.
Emodio subtitles every video, in your colours.
A coach talks about nutrition; the subtitles arrive three words at a time, with the spoken word highlighted in her colour.
