Sound design
Working on every sound in a video other than the voice: sound effects, ambience and silence.
Sound design is the “whoosh” of sliding text, the click of a button, the café hum behind an interview. Done well, nobody notices it; missing, the video feels empty.
It underlines movement: a short, subtle sound timed to a title appearing gives it weight. The rule: the voice always comes first, and the same sound for the same gesture.
In a software video, a soft click goes with every button that lights up on screen.
